SSV works is a very reputable company. They build some nice stuff. The overhead enclosure with the Ipod locker is pretty cool and the locker is made by a company named Aquatic AV. I have used their stuff and they build a solid product.
However I do know of a guy locally that can do anything they can and maybe even a little more

Yes the DS needs the battery to run. It should be charging 14.4 though and not 12.5.
It is not normal for the stator to have oil in it. This is where you are losing your charge. I would pull the flywheel and clean it all out with contact cleaner. then check your voltage after re-assembled. Then you can address the oil. Sounds like a bad seal to ...

Thanks Mike. Actually that is exactly what I was thinking about. Both my sister in-laws have them with the back seat and the roll cage and they take there kids to glamis in them. Pretty sweet setup.[/quote]

mine was doing the same thing at the dunes. Pull the carb apart and clean all the jets. The pilot on mine was blocked solid and definately will affect mid to high revs.
Check the rubber on the slide for cracks or holes.
