Re: LA dunes, 17th and 18th
Ken,
Sounds like a fun trip. I've never been there, but I'm very intested in going one of these days. I've already got plans for this weekend (going camping with the family).
Please report back after you return and let us know what you think of that place. Also, please let us know how the (informal) sand drag racing is there.
Happy trails...:)

mike, i say you need to highjack the family and take them camping in LA. we will be camping.... this will be my second time there in about 2 months. lots of drags on various dunes and good trails and dunes to play on as well. maybe next month...

Ken,
Just curious...How long it take to drive there from Houston?
Also, have you found anyone that can beat your hybrid yet? I'm guessing no...except for maybe another hybrid! lol

If your coming from conroe Id take 336, 3038, or whatever to get to 105 take that to beamont and get on I-10. Probably take you about 3.5 hours or so from Conroe to Glen Mora, LA.
and yes in a straight up drag for a short distance, there are lots that can beat me. even with knobbies in the sand I have problems keeping the front end down. its not set up to be a drag quad. And as far as I know the closest hybrid is up near Tulsa OK

Re: LA dunes, 17th and 18th
3.5 hours doesn't sound too bad...that is how long it took me to drive to the Tx Mudfest sand drags a few weeks ago. Btw, the Tx Mudfest sand drags were fun...they did a great job of smoothing out the strip (including between classes). The only downer was that they didn't put lights up around the track when it got dark, so most folks packed up as soon as the official drag races were over...only a handful of us kept racing afterwards (just for fun). I surprised a few sporties. lol
Sounds like you need a swingarm extension if you want to do any good in the drags (but that is probably not your goal with that particular quad).
Have fun at LA dunes!
