    Second battery

Has anyone added a second battery to thier atv? I just added one and now I get a hi battery message. I ran it in series and get 12 volts on each battery. Any ideas?

They do not belong in series... Run them in parallel positive to positive and negative to negative. When in a series they will produce 24~ volts.

what is the reason for a second battery?

if you have extra's, i would run it from a sepatate relay [ charge only ] and then run any extra's from that battery only. That way you can keep the primary battery for cranking only. hope that helps
