Brandon,

One of the things that made the last version of this forum so good was the link that you could click to view only the new post that haven't been read yet. I ask for it to be added on this site when you were taking suggestions and I still don't see it. If it is available and I am too dense to notice it then please disregard this post. If you do not have it please add it. That was one of the best features of VBulletin SW and should be here as well. It makes frequent posting more user friendly...and trust me, I know frequent posting.

TexasATVs Updates

We released a few changes the other day on Texas ATVs.

My Account will now blink when you have outstanding messages.
New button for "unread posts" feature.
Added category in new posts, also made last post & usernames clickable.
Added a "Active Threads" option in the forums.
We fixed a lot of random bugs that are causing site errors. Hope to have them all fixed soon!
Media Center was pretty much redone. We went 5 wide instead of previous 4, and defaults to 30 items now.
Media Center now has Next & Previous buttons. When you are in media you can go to the next without going back!

We are also currently still working on the next areas. It takes a while to code. The links area will be coming next along with Resources & then Riding Areas.

Thanks for all of your feedback! We appreciate it and will try our best to implement your changes ASAP.

Brandon, I would still rather have the old search option of viewing new posts but I am getting more used to the view unread posts link. The one thing that would be helpfull, to me at least, is if the list showed the sub forum that the post is located in. Like if it is located in Racing or For Sale etc.

wondering if it possible to put the links for subforums in the parent forum. IE when Im in the racing forum, the links for the MX, XC, TT, etc forums are there so Im not having to jump in and out to read all the racing forums.

Couple of opinions on the new site

I have a some opinions I'd like to share about the new site. All and all I like it, but here are some things that I think could be improved. Brandon, I'm not sure if these things can be changed or not, but I just want to give you some feedback. Even though this looks like a b*tch list, it's not. There are a lot of things I like better, but discussing the negative aspects is more productive towards improving the site.

On the main Forums page:

The "Re: RE: RE: RE:" on the subject line stuff is not cool. It makes it hard to see the title of the thread. I'm not sure what triggers the multiple RE's, but I think one is sufficient, or none at all. Maybe it had something to do with the changeover?

If someone changes the subject line on a post within the thread, the new subject shows up as the subject in the "Last Post" column and will continue to show up as new posts are added until someone changes it again. It doesn't change the actual title of the thread, but it looks like it does on the main screen. This makes it a little harder to watch for new posts on a particular thread. I liked it better on the old forums where the if the subject was changed, it would only show up when actually viewing the post inside the thread.

The way the Subforums are displayed is not as user freindly as the other format. It is very easy to overlook them, especially for a new member or guest. There should be a way to access them from within that forum, not just from the main page. The way it is now, it would be better to have a separate forum for "For Sale/Trade" and "Want to Buy". But the "Manufacturer Discussion" is not that easy because there are so many subforums.

I think the "Last Post" column should be wider. Not a big deal, but I think the "Forums" column could be shortened up a little to show more of the thread/post title.

Inside the Threads:

There really needs to be more definition on the post between a quote and a reply. Either a different font color, or a different box color, something.

I also agree with the previous posts about having a quote button. Again not a big deal, but the old style was better.

Is there a way to upload photos from your PC into a thread? The only way I've found is to upload from a URL. If not, there should be. If there is, I'm an idiot and don't know what I'm doing (which is very possible).

I miss the feature that would allow you to read the first sntece or so of a post by rolling over the subject/title with your mouse. Probably not available on the new version, but it was nice.

Something is weird with the page numbers on the threads that have multiple pages. For example, on a 3 page thread, you'll be on the 1st page, but the number 3 is underlined. If your on the 3rd page, the number 2 is underlined. Then it will change all the sudden and be like it's supposed to be, all of the page#'s underlined except the one your on to let you know it's a link. It's just kinda weird. Something's not right because it changes.

Misc:

I really liked the pop-up notification of new PM's on the other forums. I don't know if this can be done on this system, but it is a nice feature. If not, how about a message box or header at the top of the screen that lets you know that you have a new PM, friend request, or media comment without having to be on the "My Account" page.

I tried to edit the title of the "My Media" and the "My Favorites" albums and it won't let me. I'd rather have my own album titles than have those two locked in.

I liked being able to go to the bottom of a thread and see who else was in it at that time. Not a big deal, but it was a cool feature.

Just wondering since some of them are posting links that could hurt our computers (only if you d/l something, but still).
