MARBLE FALLS HAS SOME OF THE NICEST COUNTRY I HAVE HAVE EVER WITNESSED... THIS RACE IS STRAIGHT OUT OF THAT VIDEO GAME "PURE" ON SOME PARTS OF THE COURSE YOU WILL COME UP ON HARD TURNS, TO WHERE IF YOU MISS YOUR TURN YOU WILL FALL OFF THE SIDE OF THE HUGE HILLS. MOST OF THE COURSE IS CARVED OUT OF THE EDGES OF THE HILLS.. THE TRAILS LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE LOST IN A FORREST UNTILL THAT FORREST RUNS OUT OF TREES... YOU CAN FIND YOURSELF "SUCKING THE SEAT" IF YOU COME UP TO HARD TURN ON ONE OF THOSE HILLSIDES... THIS TRACK WILL SHOWCASE ALL LEVELS OF TRAIL RACING. SEVERAL PASSING AREAS, MULTIPLE LANES.... JUST BE READY THE ROCK HILL CLIMBS WILL WEAR ON A RIDER.... THE LAP TIME WAS SET AT ABOUT 22 MINUTES... THAT IS FROM AN A CLASS RACER..... SO YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE ON THE MOVE FOR 20+/- MINUTES RACE DAY.....

ALL RACERS THAT PARTAKE IN ANY OF THE WEEKENDS EVENTS WILL BE SHOWCASED ON THE END OF RACE DVD............. SO BE THERE

OUR SERIES WILL FEATURE SEVERAL DIFFERENT COURSE LAYOUTS. MOST TRACKS ON THE SCHEDULE WILL BE DUAL TRACK RACING. WETHER THE MX TRACK IS SEPERATE FROM THE TRAIL TRACK OR NOT. OUR RACES WILL HAVE A LITTLE MIX OF EVERYTHING. BE READY FOR IT ALL, WATCH THE RACE VIDEO, HELMET CAM THAT WE SHOWCASE ON OUR WEBSITE. THE VIDEO WILL SHOW ALL ASPECTS OF THE RACE TRACK JUST LIKE THE RACERS WILL SEE RACE DAY..... WE ARE GIVING THE RACER A FIRST HAND LOOK OF THE TRACK. IT GIVES THE RACER A LITTLE BIT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE RACING COURSE. ON THE OFFICIAL RACE VIDEO, A RACER WILL BE ABLE TO PICK UP ON THE GEARS THE A-CLASS RIDER IS IN FROM THE SOUND OF THE VIDEO, WHICH WILL GIVE YOU EVEN MORE INSIGHT INTO THE SPEED OF THE COURSE, ETC.....

BE READY RACE WEEKEND FOR ANYTHING THAT COULD COME YOUR WAY, CROSS COUNTRY IS FROM POINT A TO POINT B.....................

I hate to do it again, but we are moving the race from this weekend to the 12th. Due to amount of rain we have had and the amount we are going to get. The road into the park will get very bad, and the drag strip will be very wet. Now if you want to come out and go mudding, it's perfect... I have about 40% of the mx track dry, but depending on the rain might lose most of that. Sorry guys, i know this is the 3rd time to do this, but we want the last 2 races to be fun. :cool: I have walked around for what seems like forevever with this stupid neck brace on. Well it comes to an end Monday week and yes that afternoon the YFZ will be ridden hard and put up wet like a government mule! Rows 1,2,3 and let's not forget my row #4 There will be a little smack talk :BlahBla: coming from the Handsome One #701! Can't wait to walk the walk since I've talked the talk! Watched a DVD of 2005 GNCC Year in Review

A good friend from WV that I met 2 years ago at the TX GNCC race (Jack Ramsey) sent me a DVD of the 2005 GNCC season. I watched it last night and the end of the video shows various quads having great difficulty climbing a steep, muddy hill at the Ironman race (last race of 2005). Like something out of hollywood, the video shows (from the top of the hill viewpoint) my buddy Jack climbing up the hill on his yellow P700. BTW, Jack is not the kind of guy to take the easier, but longer alternative route around the hill climb. He makes it up about 2/3rds the way with no problems when suddenly his quad launches off a very steep rock face, when his quad lands he let off the throttle completely so it would not roll over backwards on top of him...then he nails the gas and starts to climb the hill again slowly. You can see all 4 tires spinning like crazy (he had swamplite tires and they seemed to get good traction and cleaned themselves real good)...then suddenly his quad shifts over to the right (off camber) and he bails off the left side with the help of a spectator standing nearby. While Jack desperately clings to a tree root to keep himself from sliding down the hill with his quad, you can see his Prairie roll end-over-end about 3 times (looks like a rag doll being tossed around by a pitt bull) before it rolled slowly into a tree at the bottom of the hill (a spectator jumped out of the way at the last second to avoid getting hit). I believe Jack told me this crash landing bent the frame, broke the steering stem, a few plastics and some other stuff. He ended up repairing it and selling it. Now he has a new Bomb 800 to race with for the 06 season. I'm just thankful that Jack had the brains to abandon ship at the right time and he did not get seriously injured in the process! If anyone happens to have this DVD, be sure to check out that hill climb footage at the end of the video and you will see Jack's attempt on his P700. Very exciting stuff indeed. Happy trails...:)
