This sounds like a total BLAST!  Unfortunately for me, I had knee surgery #2 a week ago and so I'm still not ready for a XC race.  However, I do plan to join you guys for one of your races just as soon as my knee is ready.

    Happy trails...:)

i know this race is a little far for you, but you should come out to one of the races closer to you, just to friendly ride and hang out. we have a blast when we are not racing. the racers ive met thru this series are some of the nicest and friendliest people i have ever met. i love going to hang out just as much as the races themself

Re: RD 6 Hidden Falls Adventure Park- Marble Falls Tx....(stx-atv.com)

Good idea...I may come out to spectate some of the closer races (assuming my knee is not yet healed enuf to race).  My only concern is that I might feel lousy watching everyone else racing and having fun...I really miss XC racing and its been very frustrating to miss most of the 2009 race season in the STX-ATV due to the knee injury.

    Happy trails...:)

Re: RD 6 Hidden Falls Adventure Park- Marble Falls Tx....(stx-atv.com)

Thanks...I've already marked my calender for these races, but MB is a 3 hour drive for me (each way).  Creekside Edge and General Sams are MUCH closer to my house, so I'm more likely to go to those if I'm only able to spectate. I'm going outside now to get some light exercise for my knee...got to get healed up as soon as possible!

PS - Not sure if I mentioned it, but my quad is down right now...just traded my old pipe for LTEs and I also shipped my primary clutch to VFJ for some additional upgrades.  I can't wait to get it all back together!  When is your 840 V going to be ready?

    Happy trails...:)

Re: RD 6 Hidden Falls Adventure Park- Marble Falls Tx....(stx-atv.com)

tire popped off the bead in the 2nd lap and i had to fall out of the race. i was in 2nd place at the time.

however, the good news, my dad took 1st in the 50 and over class. so way to go for him!!!

we had quite a few DNF's this race. me, a ktm the popped his motor, one flipped and bent the hell out of axle, one lost a foot peg, another siezed engine, shoot, and there was one more i think, but dont remember.

but hey, we still had a good time, and had several new racers. i wanna say "good job" to all that raced!!!!

Glad to hear that you and your dad had fun.  Why did the tire pop off the bead...did you hit something or just run too little air pressure?

Re: RD 6 Hidden Falls Adventure Park- Marble Falls Tx....(stx-atv.com)

im sure i caught a rock or a stump, dad thinks it was lack of air pressure. we both checked the tires before the race. i felt the tires where good to go, dad wanted to put a little more air in them.  last race, like i said, lost a tire (same one in fact) but it had a big gash in the side wall. i have yet to do a close inspection of this tire to see if thats the case this time or not.

Re: RD 6 Hidden Falls Adventure Park- Marble Falls Tx....(stx-atv.com)

You can always get a set of bead lock rims to prevent the same problem in the future. When I was racing, I never could justify the cost of bead locks tho. The 1 time I lost tire pressure was at Gilmer, TX (very rocky trails) when I hit a rock and it dented the rim enuf to lose tire pressure. However, the tire never came off the bead of my (ITP) rim, so I kept going and finished the race. YOu could also go all out and get tire balls (about $1,000 for a set of 4)...that way, you'd never have to worry about losing tire pressure again! Too rich for my blood tho. Happy trails...:)

Are you racing a  UTV? If so, make a tire rack and carry a jack and a spare!
