The Southern Monster Truck Showdown is returning to the Killeen Rodeo Arena on October 2&3, 2009.  We will again be hosting ATV racing, as we did in April and are trying to let everyone know early so they have time to plan and attend.

The shows are at 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday nights.  Anyone wishing to enter must be on the grounds by 6 pm so you are signed up and ready to go by 6:30 for the driver's meeting.  (Thursday night registration mentioned previously has been cancelled as so many people said they could not be there.)

All riders must be at least 18 years old, we cannot allow minor riders, per our insurance.

Entry fee will be $20 per rider, with 100% of all entry fees going into the prize purse, plus we will add $250 per night.  1st through 3rd will be paid, in cash.  (If we have a large enough interest, we will split into 2 classes and add $250 per class!)

Matt and Mikey, we should go to these... the fans treat you like your hot *** asking for autographs and etc.  the racing is easy and the $$ is good.  well at least for me because I usually get on the podium..

This sounds interesting...what kind of ATV racing is it?  MX, ATV rodeo events, or something else?

I've got some serious decision making on this. It's either pass and make my guaranteed $250 reffing that Saturday to put towards my suspension fund or beat Ken and make $250. Sounds like fun though.

I'm assuming it's indoor MX racing?

Here's a couple of answers, just checked in to see that you had some.

 It's a rodeo arena, not indoor.  We don't do a lot of indoor venues, just too much hassle with the fire marshalls over fumes, so others can have those indoor headaches.  Anyhow, it's a fairly large rodeo arena, about 125' x 300' if I was guessing.

It's not "true" MX, just dirt jumps and humps from 2 to 3 foot tall scattered around the outer edges of the arena, so it's relatively easy on equipment but still fun.

And yes, we do treat you like superstars, glad that was noticed!  We would like to have everyone there by 6:30 on race night to make sure you're able to be officially introduced to the audience in that manner, and then we do appreciate winners coming to the autograph session afterward!  (Autograph session isn't mandatory, for those that are "shy", but the fans do like to get your autograph, so if you're willing, we would love to have you there!)

We've had some inquiries about UTV racing.  Therefore, we have announced that we will be more than happy to add a separate UTV class, as long as there are at least 4 entries in the class.

 SO....If you have a UTV and want to race, email me and get on the list NOW, so we can add this class.  Once I get 4 entries, I'll reply and let you know it's on!!

 AND....I need your entry information NOW for the ATV racing as well, this is only a little over a week away now.

 We got the cash....come take it!!!
