Hey man, rejetting was a bit of struggle for me beacuse i didnt completely take the carb off the quad but over all its not hard man. You need to order your self a jet kit from alba. It comes with the adjustable needle, a 25 pilot and your choice of a 150 155 main jet. its about 25 bucks. That way you dont spend like 60 bucks on the dynojet. Go on you tube and look for a video called drz 3x3 mod. That will walk you through jetting. Ohh and heads up, if you are getting the full exhaust, taking the stock head pipe is a pain in the azz.

This is the kit I'm buying for her bike. BTW I love the white and blue. I tried to talk her into it but she wanted the black and red. Thanks for the info.

Hey man I'm not trying to tell you what to buy or what not but i have some suggestions. For the new cdi, its recommended you get new valve springs, becasue the stock ones wont be able to withstand the higher reving. As far as the air filter, its better to sick with a clamp on set up like the pro design or noss machine if you are going to run no lid. And like i told you for the jet kii, the alba one. Sprockets are cheap and you can get them just about anywhere. i can give you some websites where i found some stuff at a good price.

    Re: New to the forum

No worries bro! Hell your more knowledgeable than all the dudes on z400 central. I just figured that the kit would work. I just bought a 3 mod kit for my Raptor but it's a pretty proven kit so I'm not concerned about it but the 400 is pretty foreign because I never talked to anyone knowledgeable about them.

I'm probably going to have her keep the lid on the bike because sometimes we get into some pretty wet conditions. So what you are saying is the only things worth getting would be the jet kit, pipe, and a pro design intake.

    Re: New to the forum

Well i'll tell you this all the info i have is from reading the forums on Z400central. There is TONS of info on that forum. What happens though is that all the new people ask alot questions that have been discussed over and over and the people that have been there for awhile can sometimes be azzes and not help you. But there is alot of people there that are very helpful. You can do search and find tons of info on many topics.Well in order to get the most power out of the pipe on the Z is to take the lid off and rejet. Get that clamp on filter for sure if you take the lid off. you can always buy an outerwears cover for the lid. It helps keep alot of the big chunks of dirt and mud out of the box. Sometimes it helps with water too.

    Re: New to the forum

I guess they don't get as much traffic as the Raptor forum then because the last time I was on there there wasn't anything special. I'm going to try and hit up the FAQ's when I get to the house.
