Castroville is a great sport quad park

Just wanted to drop a note to Randy to say thanks again for letting us ride out at his place.  That was a blast, the trails are long and a good mix between fast sections and tight technical sections.  Tons of fun for both new riders and very experienced ones...  If you want to go slow and enjoy the scenary or see how fast you can push the limits and not blow through a corner...  I'll post some pics of the "Hale Bay, 2 Man Barrel, Rodeo Style, Tree Club" in the Feb 28 road trip thread tonight.  Big Smile

I am a lifetime member of the Hale of Bay 2 Man Barrel Rodeo Style Tree Club. I had a blast in Castroville. Between Ken's continual track maintenance and my expertise in "blowing through a turn" It is a great trail to ride on. You STX riders be ready for a workout. One of the beauty's of Randy's place is that he also has a drag strip and some long stretches of trail where you can get wide open on. My bike definitly saw it's hardest work this past weekend. Thanks again Randy for the invite and Ken for putting the trip together.

Forum be on the lookout of the H.O.B.2.M.B.R.S.T. Club. We'll be terrorizing trails and campsites near you.

Well I think it just needs to be ridden (if that's a word) a bunch more. That will help brake down some of the dirt clods. You might have to cut down some of the grooves that get dug to deep. Other than that it's pretty awesome. I think there might be a spot where the trail kinda crosses itself. I never stopped to take the time to figure it out. I was having to much fun haulin ass. I can't wait till the drags are done. I'll have my duals on the next time I'm there. Later brother.

By the way Kari says we are way better riders than singers.Big Smile

Randy, I think for its intended purpose as a CC race track, there isnt much more needed.  Just cleaning up the track from rocks and sticks, which will happen as it gets ridden more...    there are plenty of places to cut the track though, you will need a good group of people/check points to keep things honest IMO...

From the pics the place looks like a great place to ride! Quick question, are the trails wide enough for a side by side?

Randy's number is in this thread. As far as the side by sides it's doable but there will be some tight areas that you'll have to crawl through or you'll be eating some sage brush. The trail lasts about 20-25 minutes of hard riding and 2 consecutive laps are a bear if you're fairly new or haven't ridden in a long time. Probably the most fun I've had riding in a while.

     Ken those pictures rock.
