Anybody have any input on the Blue Steel Rope Gorilla puts on some of their winches?

I like the fact that it won't recoil if broken.

Has anybody used it with good/bad results?

Only time I broke one I was in the mine field at Crosby and I was being stupid.  I will never go back to steel wire rope.  Don't forget to get a new synthetic fairlead if you switch.
