    Jay,

What about the OPEN CLASS?  Can someone (like Ken) race a LT250 quad with an LT500 motor in it in the open class, or is that class limited to matching ATV motors/Frames?

The Open Class is just that, open to anyone one with anything in an ATV configuration 3 or 4 wheels. If you have a drag chasis with a street bike motor, nitrous, and turbo then you can run it. This being the first organized sand drag there I don't expect anything like that to show but you never know. What I would suggest is if you have something you want to race bring it. I'm sure we can work everything out at the drivers meeting. If you bring something to race I doubt very seriously if you get turned away. Even if your the only one with a drag chasis, street bike powered, turbo, on nitrous. I know I've got a couple of buddies with Banshees that won't lay down for anyone. So you'll atleast get a few races. After all you get to enter 1 class free anyway so it's not like your losing anything.

a turbo street bike powered drag chassis is a different level compared to a banshee in a stock frame blaster, LT500 in a stock 250frame to race heads up, dont you think??   I understand one class is free, but Id like to at least be a close race.  we'll see I guess.  so  the $25 to get in the gate and $15 per atv is all we have to pay for the whole weekend?

Ken, I think that is correct on the prices.  You dont' have to pay to enter the drag race (for 1 class).  Please let me know if you are planning to go and I'll meet you there....assuming I get my quad tuned this weekend, I'm planning to arrive at Gator Run around 11am or noon on Sat, May 3rd.  Unfortunately, it doesn't look good for Kevin to go...he had some problems with his motor this week and it sounds like it may be a few weeks to get it going.  There will be lots of other cool events (monster truck event, atv mud bog races, live band, etc.), so it should be a fun time even if you just show up and watch all the action and ride around the park.

    Happy trails...:)

This is going to be a good event - heck its worth the $25 just to come watch the I-45 race team in the Mud Bogs.

Hey Mickey - looks like the X has a spot in the trailer, can't guarantee but looking good.

    atvmxr,

I talked to Damon today about your situation with the 500 in a 250 frame. He said come on down there shouldn't be a problem with you running in the 351-up 2 stroke classes. If for some reason some objected to it then it would be worked out.

So can i run my dune buggy in the unlimited class ?Its got four wheels and a engine!  I talked to the promotor and he said a couple buggies showed up last year and some of the trucks wanted to run at the end as well .He also said i could run the track and race whoever wanted to and if a few buggies showed he would throw some money in the pot so i was hoping to be able to drag race someone .

    Ken,

Sorry to hear about the car troubles.  You've had problems with that Truck earlier this year, right?  If so, its time to dump it and get another truck that's more reliable.

I'll bring my camera this weekend, but can't promise any good action shots...I'll most likely be riding every chance I get and I'm not bringing anyone with me to do all the camera work.

    Happy trails...:)

    Mikey

You should have plenty of time to do camera work - going out the first round will give you plenty of time to take pictures.....Stick out tongue

We are about to leave - see you out there
