    Tentive schedule subject to change
Sign up and Test and Tune are at 1:00

This is the first year for this event. We are trying to have a nice event where everyone can have some fun. In the future classes may change as the event grows but this is the structure of this year. Everyone come out and let's have a good time and meet some good people. This is the test event for hopefully some very good things to come.

Re: Mudfest Sand Drags Classes set

    Jeff,

Yes, these sand drags are part of the Texas Mudfest events to be held at Gator Run.  They have events planned that whole weekend, but the Sand Drags are on Saturday, May 3rd.  Do you think that you and Josh may come out and participate?  If so, I hope to see you there (assuming I can get my quad tuned by that time).

For more info, you can check out www.texasmudfest.com  Looks like there will be lots of events and activities.  I only plan to participate in the sand drags, but there's lots of other cool events to watch too.

    Happy trails...:)

Mikey I don't know yet but I will be talking to Josh to see if he can make it. I can do it but he may need to stay in Arlington to study or something.

I wish I could get the yfz back together for it, it should be pretty quick now.

    Jeff,

I certainly understand if Josh has to study that weekend (education comes first and all that).  If he is available, I hope that you and Josh can make it to the sand drags on May 3rd.  I recall the last time that I drag raced Josh at Mud Creek ATV park (we were just practicing before they began the atv drag race competition), he beat my Prairie 650 pretty badly! lol  I can't recall if he was on a 450r or YFZ 450 back then?   Anyway, tell Josh that I want a rematch! lol

    Happy trails...:)

Well I sure as hell hope my bike is good in time for this event....

    Mike,

Shes still not running, after I talked to you..we found out a Cam lobe was causing the Rocker to bottom out on the head. Therefore they had to shave and clearance the top of the rocker. But the last I heard (Last night) that the motor was completely assembled and all they have to do now is drop it in the Frame and hook-up all the electronics etc etc. That alone can be a pain in the a$$. BUT nothing we/they can't handle!

    Ill keep ya updated!

I'm sure you got a pile of red Kawi parts - its what powering that pile that I am worried about - I saw it run at Can Am Nationals last year.  Very quick bike.  Isn't it stretched? So you will have to run in the bigger class right - but I will run you just for fun if that is the case.

It's going to be a fun event - I look forward to seeing everyone there.  I just hope we have room to get my X down there - We have so many mud machines we are racing.  O well

    See you there

I am pretty sure that was the yfz but it should be faster now too, it has a little higher compression and a little more stroke. Well it would be faster if I ever put the motor back in it. Big Smile

But he told me that he isn't going to make it home for this one, so good luck to all you folks who are racing!

Re: Mudfest Sand Drags Classes set

    MATT,

Yep, FastFatBoy's Prairie is the same "pile of parts" that you saw race at last year's Can Am Nats.  However, that Prairie did not have a stretched frame...instead, it had a swingarm extension.  If he still has the extension for this May 3rd race, I believe he can race it in the 4x4 limited class if I read the rules above correctly (swingarm extensions are allowed in the limited classes).

I know you have lots of race quads, but PLEASE make sure you bring the Ren X on May 3rd.  I will be very disappointed if I don't get to drag race against your X...I really dont' care if I win or lose, I just want to see how my quad runs against a Ren X with the Ron Woods kit (I haven't raced any Renegades with the Ron Woods kit yet).  I'm doing my best to get my quad running/tuned this weekend...supposed to pick up my pipes today at lunch (had to get them re-coated due to a problem I found last weekend).

    JEFF,

Ah yes...it probably was the yfz now that I think about it.  Anyway, please tell Josh that he made the right call...with final exams coming up soon, school is definitely more important!  I wish the students that I teach at the local jr college had the same work ethic as Josh.  (not that it matters, but the yfz would probably get whooped by a big fat ute anyway! lol)   Jeff, if you get bored on May 3rd you should come out and watch the sand drag races (and other events) at Texas Mudfest.  I'm guessing its probably not a long drive from your house.

     Happy trails...:)

hmmm, does that mean atv motor swaps are allowed, like a trx250r motor in a 400ex or vice versa???  the way they have the classes broken down I think I would be better off racing a 310TRX, then having to deal with all these fuggin banshee's....

    heads up racing I assume?

Re: Mudfest Sand Drags Classes set

No motor swaps are NOT allowed. If you've got a Banshee frame it must be a Banshee based motor. You can bore and stroke them as much as you want. But it must have the same base motor to match the frame. This way noone shows up with a 10mil cheetah stuffed into a Blaster frame.

Yes it is all heads up racing.

Re: Mudfest Sand Drags Classes set

well thats not what the rules say....  the rules say no streetbike or snowmobile cylinders and must be an atv motor.  so a banshee in a blaster or a LT500 in a LT250 would both be an atv motor.

glad I asked before i bothered to show up.  have fun kids
