    mp3 audio pipe/box question

Can anyone tell me where I can find a fairly inexpensice audiopipe or audio box for my atv. I want one that just uses my mp3 player and not a stereo deck. The only ones I have found so far are really expensive. i can't see spending a ton of money for something that will be covered in mud 10 seconds after I get to the riding area. Also can anyone tell me if these units last or are they a waste of money.

    Thanks

I've read somewhere people use a motorcycle amp you can find on eBay that fits in the 6" PVC.  Mount it on a piece of wood and slide it in the PVC pipe.

How much do you want for the pvc? What type of amp did you use?

I dunno on the pipe. How about $20 for 3 or $50 for all of them(9)? They are 45's so three makes the pipe shaped more like a v than the common u. For me I liked it because it wraps around the snorkles and gives it a clean look. You will nedd a smal peice of 6" pipe to couple the peices together.

As to the AMP I took a peice of the pipe to Traders village and bought a $30 amp that would fit in it.

Not real sure about the audio pipe..  My box is made out off wood and rhino lined..  It has 4 8" speakers and an 800 watt amp never had a problem out of any of it.. I also have no head just an I pod

CHECK OUT THIS WEB SITE, WWW.ATVAUDIOPOD.COM  I'VE HAD MINE FOR ABOUT 18 MONTHS AND TOTALLY SATISFIED. BEEN COMPLETELY SUBMERGED SEVERAL TIMES, AND YOU CAN HEAR IT PLAYING UNDER WATER. MADE FOR IPODS AND MP3 PLAYERS. MY PLAYER STOPPED WORKING DURING MUD NATS THIS YEAR, AND THEY HAD ME UP AND RUNNING IN 15 MIN. BLOWN FUSE FIXED AND NO CHARGE. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.

    Re: mp3 audio pipe/box question

I am thinking about building a audio pipe stereo.  Is there anything special you need to attach the speakers into the pipe ends or do you just screw them in to the heavy wall pipe ends and seal.

    Re: mp3 audio pipe/box question

I used to use a plastic too box. Just cut out and install your radio with speakers on each side. It works great and cheap to build. Now I have a 500 foreman with the headlight betwen the bars and I couldn't use my box, so I mounted a marine housing type that mounted perfect on top of my light. Then I mounted speakers(waterproof) to my front rack. It works perfect and I only have about $75 in it minus the radio!

I built one for my Polaris 500 Its a 5" round C shaped PVC tube. with a 300 watt amp and MP3 input. Runs off cig lighter or any 12v. Completely water proof. I spent less then 100 bucks for all.

I have enought to make two more.
