    which lift and tires

I want to put a 2" lift and 26" (maybe 27") tires on my 04 Rubicon. Will this work and what issues may it cause? Also what lift and tires would you recommend. Thanks for the help!

Also if anyone has pictures of a similar setup, i would really appreciate seeing them.

    Thanks,

    avd

I used a Moose lift and i put 27" Outlaws on my Grizzly.  What size motor does your wheeler have? Outlaws are a really aggressive tire but if you plan to ride mud or Crosby they are a must!!!

Than Outlaws are the best option! I gotta 450 with 27"s on it! They tear through most everything!  Have you snorkeled it yet?

No. Not yet. I know it is an 04 model, but the bike is brand new. It was lost in a crate. It has 20 miles on it after riding in Crosby on Sunday. I need to read more on making it water proof before i do that.

This is my fith or sixth four wheeler. We have been riding them on my land north of Dallas. Ten years ago i would go to shiloh ridge atleast twice a month. But things have changed a lot since then. I went to Crosby on Sunday looking for a place close to take my kids to ride.

Yeah Crosby is a great place!  When it gets warmer the crowds will get a bit more rowdy so early day riding is probly best with the young kids.  If you need any help snorkeling I can help and alot of people on this site have done it also.

    Re: which lift and tires

Thanks for the help KID. I am sure i will snorkel it sooner than later. I have read where some people build it themselves and then i also found where you can buy a kit. What can you tell me?

Rowdy is ok with me--being stupid close enough to a child to hurt them, i dont have much patience for. My kids have definitely not lived a sheltered life. I am a pretty young parent. They have been to Shiloh Ridge but they were too little to ride on their own. They hurt themselves often enough. But yeah, we would likely be there early and gone by mid afternoon.

    Re: which lift and tires

I would look into doing it yourself since it will cost you less than half what a kit will cost.  All you need is to measure all the inlets for the pipes and hoses and measure how long they need to be.  Then go to Lowes or Home Depot and they have all the right stuff.

By rowdy i mean there is alot of drinking, girls and partyin! Perfect for me but maybe not so much for the young ones.  I havent heard much for accidents or injuries out there but showing off is always happening! Just watch out for the Triangle Boys, while some are really cool others can be bit cocky!

    Re: which lift and tires

If your going 27's no lift is needed. I would avoid a lift unless you need it for clearance. The lift just places unneeded stress on C/Vs, ball joints etc..

With that being said, don't get me wrong most on here that know me know I lift, lock, law, snorkle, pipe etc... everything I own including my youngest son's old 110 lol. I understand what all of this does to abike nd for me it's worth it because we can go more places.

As to the snorkle Glenn is right, do it yourself and save $$$. I would suggest asking on www.highlifter.com for pics of others who have snorkled their bikes. Often you can find someone who has done it and has a parts list made.

If you plan on riding Crosby then Outlaws are just about the only tire choice that works really well in all conditions that place has. Be warned though, Outlaws are tough on any bike. The bearings, tie rods etc... wear out more often and maintenance is always needed. The conditions the Outlaws allow you to get into has a big factor on this also.
