FYI,

as part of the ATV Rally at general sams next weekend, they will be having sand drags.  no further details know yet.

Yep, I saw that on another post a few days ago or so.  I would love to be there for the sand drags if my quad is back together in time...but at this point, I'm not holding my breadth! lol

If my builders can get my bike together in 1 day then I can make it. The chances of that are not very likely though haha. Maybe I will borrow one of their bikes!

Did anyone go to Gen Sams last Sat?  If so, who won the sand drags?

I went Mikey   Had a good time man.  The weather was perfect.  I rode solo from about 8:30 until 11am.  They gathered at the barn for sign up and briefing.  There was only about 20 folks playing the games.  First we did the obsticle course.  It was just a short loop up and around the hill/ravine area.  There was a few guys on Renegades and a couple dudes with BF's, plus an assortment of other rides including a few SxS's.  One of the guys on a BF put down a good lap of under a minute.  I think he won the doe on that one.  I had it good until the final obsticle....LOL!  The mud sucked my Z right in!

 The drags were a little later.  They paired me up with a guy on a YFZ450.  I got my *** handed to me on that one...LOL!  I have almost zero traction and no chance in that sand.  There was a guy with a Honda 450 with paddles on that I thought was gonna run, but he didn't.  The winner ended up being a guy named Clint that I had met and hung out with for a while.  He rode the Renegade solid for the win five times!

 I didn't stick around for the tire drag.

Thanks for the recap of the ATV rodeo events...sounds like you had a fun time!  I spoke with Craig (aka Bansheecraig on this forum) yesterday...he was there racing on his Blue BF750...I think he is the guy who won the obstacle course event you spoke of.  He later won the tire drag event...I think he didn't do as well in the sand drags (he was beaten by a Renegade in the first round).  I really wanted to be there for the sand drags to see how my quad would do, but my quad is not back together yet.  Still waiting on some parts (which should arrive any day now).

By the way, my family and I may be moving to your side of town in a few months.  We are currently fixing up our house to put it on the market soon.  We want to move to your side of town so we can be closer to my wife's work (she teaches school in Oak Ridge) and also be closer to the elementary school where my kids currently attend.

I heard that they didn't start the events until after lunch time...so you might have made it in time for the sand drags if you had gotten your LAZY BUTT off the couch! lol j/k :)

Good news...the UPS man just dropped off my heads a few minutes ago. That was the last thing I was waiting for, so now I can finally start to putting my quad back together. yipee!!
