    Help with valve adjustment.

I have put several posts on here about my 02 300 bayou 4X4 making a bunch of noise from the top end (and oil disappearing) and have recieved a ton of help and I am 99% sure that it is a valve problem. I need a little more if someone can help me out. Can anyone tell me where I can find step by step instructions and maybe some illistrations on adjusting the valves for this machine and possibly replacing the valve seals. Thanks

A service manual will have that info. You'll have to search around, but you may be able to find one online that you can download as a PDF. Otherwise you'll prolly have to order one. Unless you want to check with a stealership. They carry them most of the time but they're not cheap.

What makes you think its valve seals? Is it smoking when you start it up? If not then the seals are fine. To replace the seals the head needs to come off. If you are that far you may as well hone or bore the top end and put new rings in.

Most often the valve noise you are hearing is the timing chain.

A service manual is a must if you plan on going this far. They are not to bad and worth every penny.

you may have flat spots on the bottom of your adjusters making it imposable to adjust correctly. you can repair them easily and it is allso in-expensive to replace them. hope this helps.
