Checking Interest in ATV Sand Drag race at Gator Run Park on weekend of May 3rd
The promoter of Texas Mudfest said he is willing to host an ATV Sand Drag Race during the Texas Mudfest event to be held at Gator Run Park in Easton, TX on the weekend of May 3rd. He said Gator Run Park has a good sand drag area with lights and rails. If I can find some folks who are interested in doing ATV Sand Drag Races at this event, he said that he will set up the Sand Drags and get a purse together for it!!!
So is anyone interested in doing some ATV Sand Drags at Gator Run on the weekend of May 3rd (and possibly win some $$$)??? Post below if you are interested. I know I am!!
Happy trails...:)

Re: Checking Interest in ATV Sand Drag race at Gator Run Park on weekend of May 3rd
A few years ago I won a drawing for a years family membership to Gator Run so we used to go out there quite a bit. Josh ran a few drag races there and the track was pretty nice. It has been a couple of years since we have been out there so I have no idea what it looks like now.
Since it isn't an ATVCCS weekend, and it is so close to us I am sure if Josh can get back here for the weekend we would be interested.

I made the calls and had alot of interest from buddies. Talked to a buddie who owns the local powersports shop. He said he would try to round up some guys too.

JAY,
Thanks for your help in spreading the word. Hopefully they can add sand drags to this Texas Mudfest event now that we have several folks on this and other forums who seem to be interested. I spoke to cc1999 (Shelby) today, and he sounded interested in this event too...he said he would mark his calendar for now.
KEVIN & KEN,
Do you guys have an interest in these sand drags to be held in Easton, TX? Its about a 4 hour drive from Conroe, but should be well worth it to race in a good sand drag strip with lights and the possibility to win some $$$!

If they have a 4wd class it should be a pretty good throw down with all the interest from the 4x4 guys. Think if everyone that has shown interest actually shows. I'm talking about Guage, Shelby, the other guy with the Gade on this forum sorry forgot your name, you, and I. I almost forgot about all the other 4x4 guys that will already be there. You know some of them will enter. That get's me excited already. If that happens that would be a great pre-Clash shootout.

I agree Jay. Its already shaping up to be a great race! I believe they are planning to televise some of the Texas Mudfest events during that weekend, but I have no idea if they will film the sand drags or not (assuming they actually have the sand drags). That would be pretty cool to go out there and win a few bucks for drag racing and also be on TV too! lol
I'll be tickled if Shelby shows up to race on his Thundercat! I've never seen a T-cat in person, so the thought of getting to drag race one sounds pretty cool to me.
Happy trails...:)

Im looking for a new track to try out. The only thing is the track has to be smooth. I would be willing to give it a try.

Evans,
I met you a couple of years ago at Red River Sand Drags in Fouke Ark. The best I remember you had way to much bike for that track. Your bike is very nice and VERY fast. I would expect that this would be the same. Expecially since it has been a while since they have held a race. If you don't mind the drive then by all means come on. I can probably speak for most when I say I would enjoy seeing your bike make some runs.
Have you ever gone to the Clash of the Titans in Sicily Island La.? It's close to Gilbert where the hold the Planet Sand drags. You should come for the next Clash. It's scheduled for May 30 and 31. It's 300' sand drags and they keep the track in very good condition expecially for the rigid drag chasis bikes. There are usually some conversion quads there. The best I remember you would have an excellent chance in the Unlimited Drag Chasis class. Give it a thought.

Awesome looking quad - and I am sure it is a blast to ride (or just hang on to). But I am not sure they will have a class for your machine. I know the crowd would love to see it make some passes, but I doubt you will have any other quads there to compete with.
I am sure they are going to have a stock cc classes as well as an open class for both sport and ute. Not sure but just a heads up.
Mikey boy I think you might have some competiton if this guy shows up. :)

I think the sand drag classes are still up in the air, so perhaps they will have some kind of class for Evan's drag quad...btw, that quad looks AWESOME! I too would love to see it run! I would imagine that it kicks up some serious sand/dust...so I'd sure hate to be following Evan's quad down the drag strip! lol
Happy trails...:)
